Our trip in The Netherlands continues

Sunday we went to Volendam, had our picture taken and continued on to the Zaanse Schans where we retook our picture you saw on page 1. We took some other pictures as well.

Sunday and Monday.

What a cutie! Here's Krista in her Volendammer costume.
I like this view! Berlynn grabbed the camera and she was in a creative mood. She took this beautiful picture while the rest of us were relaxing after climbing up inside. Dramatic, eh?
Hurry Lynnie - take our picture Here's the Sunday gang. In front are Bart, Angel, Audrey, Krista and Linda. Standing are Lique, Ian and Bert. Berlynn is behind the camera in this one.
Hmmm, does Bart improve the picture or not? Berlynn isn't the only one with Kodachrome eyes. Although it is hard to take a bad picture at the Zaanse Schans!
Monday came the reason for the trip! Happy 10th Birthday! Here's the birthday girl at breakfast with a great big smile. Happy Birthday!
We told Krista that we wanted to look at a different hotel, since none of us liked the one we were in. So we drove to the new hotel and Krista was extremely surprised when she heard her Opa and Oma singing Happy Birthday to her right in the Hotel lobby. They flew to Holland to celebrate her birthday with her. Krista was speechless when she saw them, and that doesn't happen often! She went upstairs to their room and unwrapped more presents. One of her presents was a digital camera. Her photos are on the last page of this series. If you can't wait to see them - click here! My pictures will be better than yours!
We liked Opa and Oma's hotel so much that we decided to move there. The new room was a lot larger, Krista had her own bed instead of a rollaway, and the restaurant looked nicer. So we packed Opa and Oma in the car, packed our bags in the car, and before we went to the new hotel, we did a little sight seeing and lunching. We went to a little town in North Holland that used to be an island and is now just a little town, thanks to those clever Dutch and their dike building abilities. It looked as though Monday was laundry day in Marken, since all the sheets, shirts and unmentionables were flying in the breeze of a very nice day. Laundry day in Marken
We like our little car - Ian told us it has as much room inside as a big Mercedes sedan. If that's the truth, then I'd rather drive this than the big sedan, it's fun. This windmill is just outside Volendam - we had to go back there to retake our costume pictures. We've put it up under the Columbia picture - check it out! We block out this little car!
After a nice dinner in Zandvoort, Krista was tired, but had had a very nice birthday. I'm ready to go to sleep now.

There are more pictures on page three of our trip.

Or, if you want to go back to page one.
