Yosemite Valley in November

Opa and Oma joined us with the younger girls for one last outing in Yosemite Valley before the snow.

Just couldn't resist standing in the middle of the road to take a picture of the only thing bigger than the Land Yacht - El Capitan!
Hmmm, a smaller aperature, a polarizing filter, hmmm Yosemite Falls were dry at this time of year. The meadow was beautiful, and we couldn't have asked for a better day.
But Dad, where did you put the camera? We took the time for a picnic under the trees near the Merced River.
Whacha writin' Lynnie? Berlynn took a moment and made sand graffiti with the girls' names.
No, it's not a postcard! The Merced River is very quiet this time of year. When we come back in the Spring, we won't be able to stand here and take a picture without getting our feet wet!
Sentinel Beach below "Big Dome" It's nice to have your picture taken while floating pine cone "boats" down the river.
Looking upstream You know, it's hard to take a bad picture in Yosemite Valley. Appropriately named Clouds Rest is the rock formation in the far distance.
But Dad, why do I have to put my arms out? Hey look, we're rock surfing. Cool dude!
Krista? She's inside reading - what else? We took a moment to send Oma Toni a card from the Ansel Adams Gallery. This was the best day to go to Yosemite! It wasn't crowded, it wasn't hot, and we got in free! It took about 90 minutes to get back to Sonora, where we all had a yummy pizza.
