Camping in the wilderness

We took the trailer out for a trip in the wilderness. We were 35 miles from the nearest store, 24 miles from the nearest 2 lane highway and in the middle of the Stanislaus National Forest. Just down the road from our camp site there were rangers who checked to make sure that you possesed the right permit to go into the wilderness for camping. We'll do that kind of camping some other time (NOT!) Oh, by the way, we were 40 miles from the Lodge, and it only took us an hour to get there!

"nice rig!" as the "B" calls it!

We set up camp, assembled the barbecue, hooked up the solar panel, and found there was no cellular service and only one radio station! This is roughing it!
A small creek in the woods We went on a short nature walk and found a cute little stream feeding a large creek.
The water is cold! Liquid snow! The larger creek even had a little waterfall.
No honey, you can't climb it! There was a huge redwood and the bottom was burnt out probably from lightning. That first branch way up high is the size of most trees!
Hmmm, I wonder if they're catching anything This is Cherry Lake, it is run by the San Francisco Water Department, even though it is 150 miles from the City. It is part of the Hetch Hetchy system that brings water to the San Francisco Bay Area!
Peekaboo! Hey, who is that peeking out the kitchen window?
