Pinecrest Lake

Pinecrest is located 30 minutes from the Lodge at 5,500 feet in elevation. During the summer the lake has boat rentals and a lot of campers. Once it gets colder, the lake is drained and the place is deserted. In the winter with a few feet of snow, the boat ramp becomes a wonderful toboggan and saucer hill. The scenery is not too difficult to deal with either!
No "marina" this time of year
Brrr, this is cold! Bury me in the snow!
Snow angels! Show Dad how to move his arms and make wings! Hey! This is like being at the beach, except the darn sand doesn't get into your shoes!
You slide down first! Will ya look at those crazy kids!
This is the preferred method for going down the hill fast. A little plastic saucer! Just jump on and hold on tight! Berlynn and Opa watched the kids speeding down the hill and hoped that they wouldn't get too cold!
I sure hope the hot tub works tonight! and honey, I slid down the hill and went really fast and it was scary!
Whoa, when you put a big person on this little saucer it really goes fast! "Honey, the kids made me go down the hill - really, they did!"
No, no, no, Sarah, here is how you have to lick the snow! Julia, drink your chocolate real slow!
The snow is very clean and it is kinda like a big snowcone! After all that play, it is fun to slow down and have a hot chocolate with marshmallows.
I'm tired now!
Sarah enjoyed our outing most of all - she just loves playing in all that fresh snow!
