As the sun comes closer to peeking over the mountain, the sky gets brighter and the camera lens will make the foreground darker. Finally when the sun peeks over, the foreground is very dark as the lens closes down due to the bright sun light. The last two frames are taken about 30 seconds apart, versus many minutes for the previous frames!
And, yes, I know I accidentally moved the camera during the series, my apologies, but I still like the shots!
