We decided to do something different for Thanksgiving this year. Last year we cooked a turkey in Tuolumne, the year before that we cooked a turkey in Los Altos. We were trying to decide where to cook our turkey, when Debbie and Bob invited us to their house in Henderson, Nevada, where the visiting Uncle Don would cook the turkey for us. So we loaded up the Land Yacht and headed south the day before Thanksgiving.

| We had to stop at the Tehachapi Loop along the way. The Loop is used by trains to climb over the summit. It was built in the 1870's and is still used every day. | The girls got into a giggly mood since they were sitting in the car for so long, they were comparing the length of their shirts here. |

| The world's tallest thermometer is in Baker, California, just about two hours from Las Vegas. We stopped there to get gas and take a picture. | Soon we were parked on the driveway at their house in Henderson. |

| Everybody was busy finishing up the Thanksgiving meal on Thursday. Uncle Don was carving the turkey, Debbie was putting the rolls in the oven, Berlynn was making the mashed potatoes, and Aunt Glenda was busy making the gravy. | I took this picture for Sarah - she just loves mashed potatoes. |

| Here's the turkey before Uncle Don took the carving knife to it and reduced it to more manageable pieces. | Of course any time that there is food around the cousins, there has to be some fooling around - remember the calamari leg? |

| Soon everyone sat down, ready to eat. Happy Thanksgiving to everybody! | Jake was banished to the backyard so that we could eat in peace, but he wasn't going to let us forget him - not to worry - Jake's little tummy was pretty satisfied later. |
