Away out West...

We went to Seattle for a weekend ahead of a business conference.  We picked up Berlynn's grandmother's friend Adele and took her to lunch at Ivar's on the waterfront.

The ferry from Bremerton comes into Seattle right next to the restaurant.  There are two levels with cars and two more levels for walk on passengers.

Seattle's fireboat was docked right next door as well - I took this picture for Chris!

Adele then expertly guided us to the locks between Puget Sound and Lake Washington where we walked to the waterfront through the rain.
Berlynn smiled for the camera as a huge tugboat pulled into the lock.
We walked across the dam over to the salmon ladder to look at the fish which took the day off!
Soon the boats in the lock were at lake level and the doors opened to let them out. We opened the doors to our rental car and took Adele home and headed back to our hotel to dry off!
On our way back to the airport there was no rain, just rain clouds so we stopped and took a picture of the space needle.
As we were coming back to SFO we saw a really nice sunset from the plane!
