This is called Potato, Potato, because that is the sound these big Harley Davidson twin cylinder engines make when they're idling at the traffic light. (Try it next time there is one next to you!) It was a great day for a ride, a few clouds, but lots of sun!

We picked the bike up at Route66riders here in Palm Springs, it only had 600 miles on it!

We packed a few things and climbed on for the ride to Anza Borrego State Park.

Some parts of the ride were hot, but the desert is beautiful as always - unfortunately it is the off season and everything was closed.

The trails were open, but the Visitor Center was not.  Since we are not mad dogs or Englishmen (with apologies to Ian) we weren't going to go out in the mid day sun!
Nearby was the "La Case Del Zorro" Desert Resort, a classy place where we had a nice lunch.  The concierge took our picture and drew out a map for us to take a different route home!
We stopped along the way a few times to drink some water, rest our rears, stretch our legs, and take a picture!
Berlynn took a few shots of me riding by, just to prove that we actually did this!
The high desert is scenic and we wound our way through small towns back to the Coachella Valley.
If you're interested, here is the bike we rented, a 2003 100th Anniversary Edition Fat Boy, or a FLSTFI.

Back to regular scheduled relaxing tomorrow!

While you were reading my story, hopefully, this image downloaded and you can see me riding along!
