Mom's Special Birthday
Toni's special birthday started with a
brunch at her favorite place, the Country Gourmet on El Camino. |
She skipped breakfast so that she could order pancakes,
and eggs and orange juice and... |
Then we went back to the house where
Kristy from the Happy Hollow Zoo came to introduce some of her animal
friends to Toni! |
First, came Giza, the African Pygmy hedgehog, who was a
little shy and wanted to curl into a ball. |
But Giza did peek out because she was so curious, but
she jumped a little bit when we touched her. |
Then, Toni met Munda, a Prehensile
Tailed Skink from the Solomon Islands. |
Munda stayed on his branch as he looked around and met
all of us! |
Everyone got to pet Munda, he was very smooth and cool
to the touch! |
Not all of us liked Arana, the Mexican Red Knee
Tarantula. Good thing my camera has a good zoom lens, Toni wanted her
to crawl up her arm. |
We were a lot more comfortable with Pooka, the Rex
Rabbit. Pooka had the softest fur that anyone had ever touched! |
Last was Cleo, the Ferret. She was very well
behaved and everyone got to pet her as well. |
After the animals left, Toni had to unpack the rest of
her presents. |
She really liked the special tile that we made and had
fired just for her. |
Here's the tile, you can see why she liked it.
She told us that it was the best birthday she ever had - and she has a lot
of new (animal) friends. |
