Concourse d' Elegance

It seems like all we do is celebrate birthdays! Our friends Alex and Jeannette treated us to a day at the Concourse d' Elegance car show at the Ironstone Winery in Murphys for my birthday.

The cars were arranged all over the grounds, here are a set of classic Packards in the amphitheatre. These are CARS, compared to them, our Toyota Camry is a car.

Here's the 1940 Ford sedan Rich used to drive, Berlynn remembers tooling around in it when she was a teenager. (The car was older than she was. (A lot!))
It wasn't that crowded which really gave us time to look at everything. Here Alex is checking out the engine in a Ford Model A.
A fuel pump, a carburetor, some spark plugs and an exhaust manifold. Isn't that all that is needed?
This was a beauty with polished brass and cloth fenders. We all hoped that this was the prize in the raffle they had.

Berlynn thought this collection of Ford Thunderbirds looked like a basket of Easter eggs.

During lunch I spotted a winery worker driving a lift-all and asked him if he would give me a lift.
He did! Here you can see the view of the amphitheater and some of the cars.
Looking back towards the parking lot from my perch up high, I spotted Berlynn, Alex and Jeanette getting our picnic lunch ready. (Look next to the red car in the first row!)
This tested the limits of my zoom lens and ability to hold the camera steady while I was forty feet off the ground! Jeanette was waving, Alex was getting the wine out. Berlynn was getting warm in the car.
They celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Rolls Royce with a nice assortment. This one used to be General Bernard Montgomery's car during World War II. I took the picture for Ian, the Brits were here as well!
After a nice day, we'd seen just about everything. We stopped for a last picture at one of the picnic tables before heading home.
