Disney and Grease!

Bob, who stayed with us for the better part of last year, is appearing in a production of Grease in Los Angeles.

So we loaded up the car and left early Monday morning to see Bob perform!

A quick six hours later we checked into the hotel in Redondo Beach. Grease is at the Redondo Beach Performing Arts Center, about fifteen minutes south of LAX airport.
Bob's parents, Bob and Maureen were also in town to catch the show. We had a nice dinner with them Monday evening in Beverly Hills. Thanks Bob!
Since Bob was busy with the folks and we had a day to kill, we decided to go to Disneyland instead of the local mall on Tuesday. (With Berlynn, Disney is cheaper than the mall!)

Of course what did we do when we got there before the park opened? We went shopping!

Soon we were on Berlynn's favorite ride, Soaring over California. She saved a seat for me!

Most of the time it poured, which made the lines for the rides very short. The sun did come out for a little while - yes, we went on the roller coaster!

We got to see Goofy as well. He's hamming it up with Berlynn!
Speaking of hamming it up with Berlynn, this is the place to do it. The Hollywood backlot in California Adventure.
Then we went across the plaza to Disneyland - yes, this is the place!
The rain kept the large crowds away and with our raincoats, it didn't bother us a bit!
We did finally get a little wet, a hot cup of coffee tasted really good. Look at the water drops in the water! No Disney special effects required!
That night, after drying off in the hotel, we saw Bob in Grease. It was a great show and he was the best one on stage! He's getting ready for his opening number in his Sonny costume!
Early the next morning we headed for home again. But, one major task was completed. I rode the first roller coaster ever in my entire life. (It was a goal to accomplish before I turned 50!) Berlynn? Well, she's an old pro at coasters...
