We wish it would stop...
 |
We had a dusting of snow last week, it looked pretty
and melted in a day. Then, last night it started again and early this
morning, there was another light dusting... |
 |
...and then it kept snowing. Stella ventured out to
check it out but realized quickly that it was cold and decided to come back
inside by the fire. |
 |
I decided to shovel the steps up to the driveway, by
the time the top step was cleared, I turned around and discovered I could
start all over again. |
 |
This time the snow stuck. It was time
to go back in where it was warm. |
 |
Stella, in the meantime, was getting a
little bored. |
 |
Spike was looking for a place on the couch to take a
little winter nap. |
 |
Burrowing under the blanket seems like a warm spot -
it's kind of like building a fort in the house when you're a kid and you
can't play outside. But it looks like there's something under there already! |
 |
Steamroller Stella got there first! Spike ignored her
and headed back to bed! |
 |
By nine in the morning, it was almost 14 inches and
still coming down! |
 |
Things started to become unrecognizable outside, here
are the chairs around our firepit, in the meantime, the snow kept falling! |
 |
We didn't measure again, but this looks like about 18
inches on the patio table. That wall of snow behind it is stacked up on the
deck railing! |
 |
Finally, late in the afternoon we managed to shovel
enough snow (thanks to Danny, Jake and Karrah) to get out to the theatre
where both Saturday shows had been cancelled. It's down lower, at 2,000 feet
and you can see how quickly a little bit of sunshine melts the snow in the
parking lot. |
 |
On Sunday, after being stuck in the house for a loooong,
looooong time, our little Donner party finally went to the theatre and back
to work. Berlynn's little 4 wheel drive Toyota got us out of the snow and
safely down the hill! |
