San Diego

San Diego is one of those places that are easier to drive to than fly. (Remember that we have a nearly three hour drive to the nearest airport!) So a conference there meant another opportunity for Berlynn to come along. We arrived at the conference hotel in Coronado just as the sun was setting.
The check-in for the conference was quick and easy and the reception was outside on the terrace. The view of Coronado Bay, the famous bridge and San Diego beyond was spectacular.
The next morning the moon was still up when we got up. This is Coronado Bay in the foreground with the Pacific ocean just past that little spit of beach.

.

After the conference we did a little shopping in Old Town San Diego.
There was a "fighting cactus" outside the mission.
I thought the blues and whites in this picture made it worth taking.
Our good friend Laura drives everywhere to meet up with some coffee with us. Here we are in La Jolla before heading back north.
