If there's a better place to celebrate a holiday...

...we certainly don't know about it. Temps in the seventies, blue skies, and all the comforts of home!

We left Tuolumne early in the morning so that we could drive without traffic and while it was still dark we stopped in Kingsburg in the Central Valley for gas and a bio break for the dogs.

We packed up the trunk of the Camry with more stuff than we've ever taken with us. Included are the Christmas presents that haven't been handed out yet...

The dogs have more stuff than we do. You'd think they could economize - food, toys, treats, you name it - they brought it...

We arrived in Palm Springs well before lunch and went down to Palm Canyon drive where I thought it was interesting that the Palm Springs Welcome Center was closed.  Hmmmmm.....
The pool and hot tub heater are on, it should be usable soon!
Just like at home, Stella was soon pushing leaves off the deck - except that this time they were palm leaves and they were landing in the pool!
What do you do when all the leaves are in the pool? You borrow a pool float and get them out so that you can start all over again!
Spike thinks Stella is cool, but hanging out on your own chaise lounge is way cooler.
The neighbor cat was the coolest of all, taking all that canine behavior in from the rooftop through little tiny eyes...
Back in the house, Berlynn has her own email/Facebook station. (No, that's not a large mouse, it's a small laptop.
Ready for another day, the steam is rising off the pool and the sun is rising on the San Jacinto mountains.
