We decided to visit Disneyland for our anniversary. It
had been a few years since we were there. With the freeway construction
complete, it is a short 5 1/2 hour drive to get there! |
 |
Downtown Disney has some fun stores. Here's Berlynn
looking for an anniversary present. |
 |
In front of Disney's California Adventure, they spell
out C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A in very large letters. Here's she's taking a break
on the L. |
 |
We ran into Minnie on the Hollywood backlot at DCA. |
 |
This is the Soaring over California ride, a glider
simulation and our favorite! |
 |
California Adventure also has Disney's version of a
winery! |
 |
Of course over in the original
Disneyland, the Mark Twain still navigates the great rivers. |
 |
The Jungle Cruise has attacking hippos! |
 |
One of the character handlers saw our
"Anniversary" buttons and invited us to dance with Mickey and Minnie. I
tried carefully not to step on her oversized shoes. |
 |
We also got a chance to dance with each
other before the applause from the audience. |
 |
We spent a night at the Grand
Californian Hotel and watched the Monorail train speed right through the
hotel past our room. |
 |
After a short afternoon break, we went
back to Disneyland - these balloons looked like a flower bouquet. |
 |
We had a great BBQ dinner at the
Thunder Ranch hosted by Jessie and Woody from Toy Story. |
 |
Outside the Enchanted Castle we saw a
duck that wanted to be as beautiful as a goose. |
 |
At the end of a long day, we went back
to our room which was at the end of a long hallway. (No, this is not a
Disney special effect.) |
 |
We waited in the lobby of the hotel for
a friend for breakfast the next morning. What a nice place to sit and do
nothing for a while! |
 |
One last trip on the Monorail - here
are we are crossing the Disney version of the Golden Gate Bridge before we
go on to our next adventure! |
